Manifesto for Justice

The Manifesto for Justice is a collective work by the "Rights, Justice and Security" club. It was born of anger, conviction and ambition: anger at witnessing the methodical demolition of the judicial institution by the government in power since 2002; conviction that the defense of fundamental rights and freedoms is a factor in safety and security; ambition to build a left-wing program without taboos. The book is eminently collective, as it is the fruit of the reflections of all the members of the club (magistrates, lawyers, academics, senior civil servants from the Ministry of the Interior, members of the Conseil d'État, and others), even if they do not necessarily agree with everything.

The Manifesto for Justice puts forward innovative proposals to defend an independent justice system that is accessible to citizens, protects the most vulnerable (victims, minors, employees in difficulty, immigrants, the mentally ill, etc.) and reinvents the way justice is organized.

As the very name of the club suggests, the book sets out to demonstrate the links between justice and security. Another way of thinking about justice and security is possible, as the concluding declaration of rights proves.
