🚀 The book COMPLIANCE ET DROITS DELA DÉFENSE, edited by the Journal of Regulation & Compliance and LefevreDalloz, is now in bookshops. It has been eagerly awaited by all those involved in Compliance, companies, in-house lawyers, compliance officers, magistrates and lawyers who are confronted with the procedural consequences of Compliance and in particular with the development of internal investigations, appearances on prior recognition of guilt #CRPC and judicial public interest agreements #CJIP.

The origins of this book lie in a meeting between Marie-Anne Frison-Roche and the CNB (Conseil national des barreaux), under the impetus of its Commission on Freedoms and Human Rights, which led to the organization of a symposium on " Avocatet droits de la défense dans les enquêtes internes et la justice négociée " ( Lawyers and rights of defense in internal investigations and negotiated justice ). But this book is not a transcript of the conference (which can be viewed on the CNB's You Tube channel). It extends the debate with important contributions that not only fuel theoretical reflection on Compliance law, but also good practice in the field. It is an excellent guide for all practitioners.

I was very honoured to work alongside Marie-AnneFrison-Roche in editing this fine book, and also to write a section on the subject of "Compliance et droits de la défense: toujours pour le respect des droits humains". Because that's what it's all about: defending human rights in the world of Compliance.
